Certified
FAST Coach
Why Certify?
For coaches ready to be held to a standard.
The Certified FAST Coach (CFC) is the credential AFCSI awards to coaches who demonstrate competency in the FAST System. It is assessed against the FAST Coach Competency Framework, earned through supervised practice, and issued only on demonstrated capability in a live coaching engagement.
The Programme
Knowledge, then practice.
The route to certification runs through two stages: four Professional Development pathway courses (each earning a certificate), then a four-month live programme where coaching competency is developed and demonstrated across the full FAST System. The CFC designation is awarded on assessed competency against the FAST Coach Competency Framework — not on programme completion.
Stage 1
Four Pathway Certifications
The four Professional Development pathway courses — Growth, Productivity, Profitability, and Culture — are the knowledge foundation the live programme builds on. Each course can be taken at your own pace and earns a pathway certificate on assessed completion. All four are required before entry to the live CFC programme.
Already have some Pathway Certifications? They count. You pick up from where you are.
Stage 2
The Live CFC Programme
A four-month programme — cohort or 1:1 — where coaching competency is developed and demonstrated across the full FAST System. This is the practice layer, not a repeat of pathway content. Each month has a specific focus, building from diagnostic application to integrated cross-pathway practice and final assessment.
Diagnostic practice. Running the FAST Matrix in live coaching conversations. Bringing real client situations into supervised practice. Practising diagnostic moves with facilitated feedback.
Coaching application. Applying the CARE approach in real time — shifting between Contextual, Adaptive, Relational, and Empowering as a session demands. Supervised practice with structured feedback after each session.
Cross-pathway integration. Coaching through complex, multi-pillar situations. Seeing a business as a whole system and coaching across all four pillars coherently — the hardest skill, and the one that defines a FAST coach.
Assessment. Case study development. Recorded coaching session submission. Final assessment against the FAST Coach Competency Framework. CFC awarded on successful completion.

The Standard
Two submissions, one standard.
The CFC is awarded on assessed competency against the FAST Coach Competency Framework — eight competencies that together define what it means to coach the FAST way.
Assessment requires two submissions. Both must meet the required standard.
Recorded coaching session: A real coaching conversation, recorded for review by a senior FAST coach against the framework. The assessor is looking for evidence that the competencies are demonstrated in practice, not just understood in principle.
Written case study: A structured case study demonstrating your ability to apply the FAST System to a real client situation — diagnosis, pattern identification, coaching approach, and outcomes. Assessed against the same competency framework — in written form rather than live practice.
The standard exists to protect the value of the credential. A CFC that could be earned without demonstrating competency would not be worth the letters.
Is the CFC right for you?
For coaches building toward professional recognition.
The CFC is designed for experienced coaches, consultants, and HR professionals who want to build or reposition their practice around a rigorous, results-focused methodology. It requires completing all four pathway certificates, engaging seriously in the live programme, and demonstrating coaching competency through assessed practice.
If you are still exploring coaching as a direction, the free courses and Live Accelerators are the right starting point. The CFC is for when you are ready to invest in a credential that holds you to a genuine professional standard.
If you are unsure whether you are ready, a discovery call is the best way to find out.
What the CFC makes possible.
Distinctive positioning. Present credibly to ASEAN organisations as a coach using a rigorous, locally-relevant system — not generic tools adapted from Western models.
The Certified FAST Coach designation. A credential assessed against a defined competency framework and earned through demonstrated practice.
The certified coach community. Peer supervision, case consultation, and continuing professional development through AFCSI events and the certified coach network.

FAQs
What is the difference between a pathway certificate and the CFC?
A pathway certificate demonstrates deep knowledge of one FAST pillar — earned by completing a Professional Development course with a formal assessment. The CFC is a credential of a different kind, awarded on demonstrated coaching competency across all four pillars, and requires completing all four pathway certificates plus the four-month live programme with its final assessment.
Do I need all four pathway certificates before starting the live programme?
Yes. The four pathway certificates are the knowledge foundation the live programme builds on. The live sessions are not introductions to the content — they are applications of it. Arriving without the pathway knowledge means you will not get full value from the programme.
Can I complete the pathway certificates and the live programme at the same time?
In some cases, yes — depending on your starting point and timeline. This is worth discussing in a discovery call. Most participants complete at least two or three Pathway Certifications before entering the live programme.
What does the assessment involve?
Two submissions. A recorded coaching session — a real conversation reviewed against the FAST Coach Competency Framework. And a written case study demonstrating cross-pathway diagnostic and coaching application. Both must meet the required standard for the CFC to be awarded.
What if I do not pass the assessment?
You will receive detailed feedback on both submissions. You may resubmit once within three months of your initial submission at no additional cost. If a second submission does not meet the standard, we will discuss next steps with you directly.
Is the CFC recognised internationally?
The CFC is awarded by AFCSI — the ASEAN FAST Coaching Standards Institute, the professional body for FAST coaching in ASEAN. It is a specialist business coaching credential, not a general coaching qualification. It is not affiliated with ICF or EMCC and does not count toward ICF credential hours. It is recognised within the FAST coaching community and by organisations familiar with the FAST System.
Is pricing different for different countries?
Yes. AFCSI applies a tiered pricing model based on local purchasing power, in three tiers:
Tier 1: North America, UK, Australia
Tier 2 (30% discount): Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea
Tier 3 (50% discount): Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia
The same tier applies to annual renewal fees. Visit your local AFCSI site for local pricing in your currency.
How long is the CFC valid for?
The CFC is valid for twelve months from award. It renews annually, with renewal conditional on meeting the CPD requirement and paying the annual renewal fee.
What does renewal involve?
Three things: CPD attestation (confirming you have met the required CPD activities during the year), ethics attestation (confirming continued commitment to the AFCSI Code of Conduct), and payment of the annual renewal fee. Renewal keeps your credential live and your listing on the AFCSI register of Certified FAST Coaches current.
What counts as CPD?
AFCSI recognises a range of CPD activities: attending AFCSI Live Accelerators, attending AFCSI seminars and regional events, participating in peer supervision and case consultation within the certified coach community, and contributing to AFCSI standards work, regional governance, or peer assessment. The specific CPD requirement for each renewal cycle is described in the guidance issued to Certified FAST Coaches.
What is your refund policy?
If you withdraw before the programme begins, we offer a full refund. Once the programme has started, we do not offer refunds — but we will work with you if circumstances change, including deferring your place to the next cohort.
